Principal Consultant - Business Parks and Offices
Ecorys is one of the largest advisory and research organisations in Europe, specialising in economic research. We have been bridging the gap between science and practice for 96 years. From an independent position, we help clients on the side of both government and market with thorough analyses, inspiring ideas and practical solutions for complex market, policy and management issues.
Our company currently has approximately 550 permanent employees, who work worldwide from our headquarters in Rotterdam and 15 other offices in 11 countries. In the Netherlands, Ecorys has approximately 180 highly qualified consultants, who work for our clients in and outside the Netherlands.
The Role:
Our customers decide on the future structure of society and economy. With thorough research and useful advice, we lay a foundation for their strategic choices. Working towards a better, sustainable society for people, government and business is what motivates and inspires us. Do you enjoy carrying out research and consultancy assignments within this domain? Then respond now!
In the Regions & Cities sector, some 30 professionals work on projects on themes such as regional economy, housing, energy & climate, circularity; social facilities; area development and digitization. In doing so, they use a wide range of methods and techniques, such as social cost-benefit analyses, supply/demand confrontations, policy evaluations and model studies.
Business parks and offices have been central themes within the sector for a long time. Your task is to further develop this theme together with your colleagues. In doing so, you conduct your own research, provide customers with sound and useful advice, lead your team as a project manager to good end products, represent our company in the field and actively work to bring in new work.
Within the Regional Economy, SCBAs and Broad Prosperity team, you will work on various projects for different clients. These can be classic needs assessments, but also innovative studies into, for example, the transformation of existing business parks and office locations with a view to sustainability, intensification, circularity, energy transition, the reduction of companies in the low environmental categories on business parks and the switch to mixed work/residential areas.
What we will need from you:
- You have completed a university degree in a relevant field, for example economics or economic geography.
- You have at least ten years of work experience in the field of business parks and offices.
- Experience with needs assessments (quantitative and qualitative) for both business parks and offices and with writing policy documents and market reports.
- Affinity with sustainability, intensification, circularity, energy transition, the reduction of companies in the low environmental categories and with mixed working/living areas is an advantage.
- You also like to do assignments every now and then (about 20% of your working time) with other subjects, which you like to immerse yourself in.
- You like to work in a team and are customer-oriented.
- You are enthusiastic, enterprising and proactive.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and in writing in Dutch and English
