Junior Consultant - Resilient Economies

What you will be doing
We are currently looking for a Junior Consultant to join our Resilient Economies Sector to help us deliver policy evaluation, impact assessment and research services for EU institution clients such as the European Commission (e.g. DG CONNECT and DG GROW). As a Junior Consultant, you can expect to:
- Utilise your technical skills and EU policy knowledge to contribute to the implementation of evaluation, monitoring and research methodologies, covering mixed-method research techniques.
- Work with senior colleagues to identify new business opportunities and contribute to drafting proposals for winning work in policy evaluation and impact assessment in a wide spectrum of EU policy areas, including digital and industrial policy.
- Contribute to project management and project coordination tasks;
- The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to contribute to Ecorys’ communication and outreach activities, including attendance of and presentations at conferences and workshops.
Depending on the candidate’s experience and skills, Ecorys Brussels will discuss and agree the exact portfolio of tasks and a career path for the candidate’s future development in the company.
What we will need from you
- A university degree in economics, political science, law, international relations or a related field;
- At least 1 year of work experience in a relevant field or an internship experience after finalisation of your studies.
- Good knowledge and understanding of the functioning of EU institutions and key EU policies;
- Ability to take initiatives, to manage multiple tasks and to meet multiple deadlines simultaneously;
- Good teamwork abilities, particularly in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary context;
- An excellent level of written and spoken English developed through an extended period of study or work experience in an English-speaking environment;
- Applied quantitative/economics research skills are a desirable requirement, including experience of designing, collecting/accessing and analysing quantitative data.
- Ability to code in R or Python is also an asset.
