You’ll join Ecorys Italy, part of a global group of 600+ experts delivering impactful research, evaluation, and consulting services. Based in Venice, you’ll support the evaluation of European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) policies and interventions under the Veneto Region’s PR ESF+ 2021–2027, helping ensure that public investments drive real societal change.
About the Role
As a Junior Consultant, you will support the design and delivery of evaluation activities, contributing to research, analysis, and reporting for ESF+ programmes. Working closely with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders, you’ll help assess how policies perform and generate insights that inform future decisions.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in evaluating ESF+ policies and programmes for the Veneto Region.
• Support research design, data collection, and analysis (qualitative and quantitative).
• Contribute to reports, presentations, and deliverables for clients.
• Participate in meetings and liaise with regional and EU stakeholders.
• Carry out desk research, literature reviews, and fieldwork (interviews, surveys, focus groups).
• Support wider projects in regional and EU policy evaluation.
Your Profile
You are analytical, curious, and motivated by public policy and social impact. You thrive in collaborative, multicultural environments and are eager to grow your evaluation and research skills.
Requirements:
• Excellent Italian skills including verbal and written (minimum C2 level) and excellent English (minimum C1).
• Degree in social sciences (e.g. Economics, Sociology, Public Policy, Economic Geography).
• 1–2 years’ experience, ideally related to ESF+ or EU Cohesion Policy.
• Knowledge of EU Cohesion Policy and ESF+ essential.
• Experience in policy analysis or evaluation (labour, education, social inclusion, etc.).
• Understanding of Better Regulation and evaluation methodologies (an asset).
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
Desirable:
• Experience supporting project bids, reports, or proposals.
• Confidence with qualitative/quantitative research methods.
• Presentation and client communication skills.
