What you will be doing
We are looking for a senior Consultant to join our Climate, Energy and Environment team based in our Brussels office to deliver projects supporting the public sector.
As a Senior Consultant your role will include but is not limited to:
- Taking a leadership role in projects in the policy fields related to environment, energy and climate change. Topics could include circular economy, just transition, energy efficiency, renewable energy, climate migration and adaptation and sustainable blue economy.
- Creating and submitting project proposals whilst leading their implementation.
- Overseeing and actively contributing to project management and execution.
- Developing research methodologies, designing projects, and writing comprehensive proposals and reports.
- Supporting team development and management including line management and coaching junior colleagues.
- Contributing to Ecorys’ communication and outreach initiatives
- Cultivating and expanding a network of experts and partners collaborating closely with colleagues across Ecorys.
What we will need from you
Essential
- A master’s degree in environmental science, political science economics, public policy, international relations, environmental sustainability, engineering or in another related field.
- A proven track record in policy related work in a relevant field preferably with European institutions, EU clients private foundations research
- Demonstrated experience in the preparation and successful acquisition of EU proposals, along with hands-on experience in EU project management.
- Exceptional proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement activities and designing and implementing consultation activities (e.g. focus group, workshops)
- Demonstrated expertise in delivering high-quality reports and project outputs.
- Effective management skills with a knack for training and developing junior staff.
- Financial acumen coupled with a client-focused approach.
Desirable
- Ph.D. in a field related to one of the relevant policy areas.
- Knowledge of better regulation guidelines and/or experience in policy evaluation/analysis
- Behavioral science approaches applied to stakeholders engagement activities
- Capacity building for public and/or private sector
