Experienced Project Manager - Circular Economy

What you will be doing

We are currently looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our team in Brussels. You will manage a large-scale project implemented for the European Commission. 

More specifically, as a Project Manager, you can expect to:

  • Lead and coordinate all phases of the project, planning activities and setting clear milestones.
  • Oversee project budgeting, timelines, quality assurance, and risk management to ensure delivery on commitments.
  • Liaise with stakeholders – including client representatives, external experts, and team members – to enable effective communication and collaboration.
  • Develop and update project documentation, including progress reports, deliverables, and policy recommendations.
  • Manage resource allocation, scheduling, and team coordination to maintain project efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Monitor and evaluate project outcomes, implementing corrective actions and improvements as necessary.
  • Present findings, reports, and strategic advice to the client and external audience.

What we will need from you

This role calls for strong organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage workflows, deadlines, and logistics across a complex, multi-partner environment.

You will be detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable juggling parallel workstreams under pressure. The ability to streamline administrative procedures, ensure compliance with contractual obligations, and support the seamless delivery of services is essential. In addition, the role demands effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills to liaise confidently with partners, and projects. 

  • 10+ years of experience in project management, including delivery oversight and quality insurance
  • 8+ years of experience managing teams of 8+ people
  • 5+ years of experience managing EU-funded contracts/projects (including administrative and financial reporting)  
  • 3+ years of experience managing circular-economy-related projects involving local/regional authorities or their ecosystem partners
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement, network coordination, and community building in international or EU contexts
  • Experience in organising and speaking in 10+ international public events and/or high-level meetings in the last 5 years
  • Master's degree in a relevant field (project management, environmental and climate sciences, social sciences, political sciences or related fields)
